OMG, okay, so Addie and Collins here, and we are literally so excited to tell you what it’s actually like being a middle school cheerleader at our school! Honestly, it is so much more than just wearing a cute uniform and doing high kicks at the Thursday night football games. We are at practice like every single day after school sweating our gloss off, drilling our cheers until our voices are completely gone, and hitting our stunts until they are literally perfect. It’s exhausting. It can be so stressful trying to balance homework, drama, and landing that perfect tuck, but the second the bleachers start shaking and the crowd goes wild, all that hard work totally pays off.

But okay, the absolute best part of this season is that we are actually the co-captains this year alongside our literal bestie, Spencer! The three of us are a total dream team, and we balance each other out perfectly. Spencer is so good at calling out the counts and keeping everyone focused when we start goofing off, while we are always hype-checking the squad and making sure everyone’s energy is at a total ten. Leading the team can be kind of a lot sometimes, especially when people forget the choreography or start complaining about conditioning, but having Spencer by our side makes it so fun. We always huddle up before the game, do some shadow boxing, and then it is game face on.

Being a teen right now is already such a rollercoaster, but having our cheer family makes everything so much better. Our squad is seriously like a sisterhood, and we are always making TikToks in the locker room, helping each other with hair glitter, and screaming for each other during solo passes. Even when we’re totally exhausted from running laps or dealing with middle school drama, stepping out onto that track with Spencer and the rest of the girls makes us remember why we love this sport so much. We are making the absolute best memories right now, and we wouldn’t trade this captain life for anything!
